In a troubling incident Thursday, July 27, 2023, Israeli settlers, protected by Israeli occupation forces, attacked the village of Asira al-Qibliya, located south of Nablus.
The head of the village council, Hafiz Saleh, reported that settlers from the “Yitzhar” settlement assaulted Palestinian farmers in the southern area of the village after they had completed a land reclamation activity in cooperation with the Red Cross in an area designated as “Area B” according to the Oslo Accords.
He further stated that the Israeli settlers targeted Palestinian homes in the area under the protection of the Israeli military.
As Palestinians attempted to confront the Israeli settlers, the Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition and toxic tear gas canisters at them.
Asira al-Qibliya is one of many Palestinian villages that have been subject to such barbaric Israeli attacks.
