Israeli settlers have kicked off Sunday, September 17th, 2023, with the first day of a series of Jewish holidays in the Old City of Jerusalem.
For Palestinians, such holidays are not mere celebrations on the Jewish calendar. They are scenes that encapsulate the ugliest images of the Israeli occupation’s presence In the Palestinian territories.
Throughout these images, Palestinians are being humiliated, arbitrarily arrested, face intimidating threats, and banned from practicing their Muslim rituals at their holy site.
On the cover of the images’ album, Israeli settlers are portrayed as pure and God’s chosen people on earth, who will salivate the town from sins!
In reality, the Alleged Temple Mount groups make the best out of Jewish holidays to mobilize enormous numbers of settlers to practice their Talmudic and Biblical rituals at the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
From public Talmudic prayers, fasting, and animal and plant sacrifices to blowing the trumpets, Israeli settlers desecrate the sacred place of Al-Aqsa Mosque, attempting to write a new chapter, its title holds several methods for Judaizing the holy site and dividing it temporally and spatially.
Settlers’ celebrations of Hebrew New Year, September 17th, will bring solemnly chaos and violence to the Old City of Jerusalem for two successive days, as the settlers will organize large-scale incursions into Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem’s Old City, where they plan to blow the trumpet loudly in and around the holy mosque.
This course of time is followed by the so-called “days of repentance”, in which the settlers will step into Al-Aqsa barefoot and with their biblical white clothing, proclaiming their repentance prayers en masse.
In the meantime, Israeli occupation soldiers and Police will have already emptied the place of the Palestinian worshippers by force.
After these days, the settlers mark the second Jewish holiday the “Day of Atonement”, which will be marked on September 25th, via which they seek to simulate animal sacrifice and blow the trumpet. This occasion sets a high record number of settlers breaking into Al-Aqsa.
On September 30th, settlers’ groups will be participating in the “Rosh Hashanah holiday”, which runs until October 17th.
This is a Temple Mount-linked event having biblical pilgrimages and blatant entry of plant sacrifices to the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This day will witness a spike in number of settlers posed to intrude into Al-Aqsa, reaching at least 1,500 intruders over consecutive days.
Loud calls to fend off Israeli settlers’ attempts to Judaize the city blow up on social media, prompting Palestinian Muslims nationwide to stay at Al-Aqsa Mosque, day and night.
Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf as well as Jerusalemite activists have underscored the dire need to tighten Palestinian presence in Al-Aqsa these days, in particular, to derail settlers’ plans and persistent Judaization efforts.
