DaysofPal- Israeli military escalation in Lebanon continues to intensify, marked by increased airstrikes and an expansion of ground operations. Clashes have grown along the southern border, with confrontations spreading further, particularly in the western sector.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks has risen to 1,024, with 2,740 people injured since March 2, according to its daily emergency operations report.
In Beirut, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes targeting the neighborhoods of Ghobeiry and Burj al-Barajneh in the southern suburbs. The nature of the targets remains unclear, and no casualties were immediately reported, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
In southern Lebanon, an Israeli airstrike at dawn on Saturday killed one person and injured two others after striking a house in the Bint Jbeil district. Other areas were also targeted, including the coastal city of Tyre and the town of Naqoura near the border with Israel.
Ground movements have been reported from the direction of Naqoura, alongside an expansion of clashes in the western sector. Heavy aerial and artillery bombardment has also been recorded across border areas.
Hezbollah, for its part, announced that it carried out attacks on Israeli army positions and troop gatherings in six southern villages. The group said it launched rockets and conducted drone operations targeting Israeli forces, including a group of soldiers near the Khiam detention facility and at the Namar al-Jamal site opposite the town of Alma al-Shaab, claiming direct hits.
The group also reported carrying out a drone strike on a military position at the Blat site, alongside ongoing clashes involving light and medium weapons and rocket fire in the city of Khiam.
In addition, Hezbollah stated that it targeted a group of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the Taybeh project area using a specialized missile, along with other positions near the Khiam detention facility. It also said it repelled an attempted Israeli advance toward the municipal building in Naqoura, claiming direct hits on advancing forces.
