DaysofPal- Dozens of Israeli settlers carried out a large-scale attack at dawn on Sunday on the village of Jalud, located south of Nablus in the northern West Bank. The assault included the burning of homes, vehicles, and the village council building, leaving three young men injured while residents attempted to defend their community.
Local sources reported that the settlers entered the village under the protection of Israeli forces and proceeded to set fire to and vandalize civilian property. Several houses and cars were destroyed, along with the main council building serving the village.
Young men from Jalud and nearby villages confronted the attackers, leading to clashes on the ground. Three individuals were injured after being beaten and were later transported by Palestinian Red Crescent teams to hospitals in Nablus for treatment.
In related incidents, groups of settlers launched attacks on Saturday evening on several towns across the Jenin and Nablus governorates. These assaults also involved the burning of homes and vehicles and resulted in injuries among residents.
According to local sources, villages and towns across the West Bank have witnessed a noticeable escalation in settler attacks, which have been occurring with increasing frequency and in coordination with Israeli forces.
The latest wave of violence followed calls circulated on settler-affiliated pages urging organized marches on Saturday evening. These calls came after the death of a settler and the injury of another in a vehicle accident involving a stolen car from the town of Beit Imrin, north of Nablus.
The attacks are part of a continuing escalation. During February alone, approximately 1,965 incidents were recorded involving Israeli occupation forces and settlers. These included physical assaults, the uprooting of trees, the burning of land, property seizures, and the demolition of homes and other structures.
