DaysofPal – A young Palestinian man succumbed to his wounds on Monday morning, while another civilian was injured in separate Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, as violations of the ceasefire agreement continue to mount.
Medical sources confirmed the death of Ahmed Samir Farhat, who died from injuries sustained two days earlier during an Israeli strike targeting the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Another Palestinian was injured in a different incident when Israeli occupation forces shelled a home in the central Gaza refugee camp of Maghazi.
The latest attacks come amid an ongoing pattern of Israeli military violations despite the ceasefire agreement. On Sunday alone, five Palestinians were killed, including three members of the same family, while several others were injured in Israeli shelling and gunfire across different areas of the enclave.
Israeli occupation forces have continued carrying out air and artillery strikes targeting areas sheltering displaced civilians, alongside demolition and destruction operations inside the “yellow line.” Restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel have also remained in place, further deepening the humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.
According to data released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10 has risen to 901, with an additional 2,677 people injured. Authorities have also documented 777 bodies recovered from previously inaccessible areas.
The ceasefire agreement was reached after two years of a genocidal war launched by Israel on October 8, 2023. Since then, the conflict and its aftermath have left more than 72,000 Palestinians dead and over 172,000 wounded, while approximately 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has been destroyed.
The United Nations has estimated that reconstruction efforts in Gaza could cost nearly $70 billion, underscoring the scale of devastation left behind by the war.
