DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that hospitals across the territory received nine bodies and 30 injured individuals during the days of Eid al-Fitr. Among the dead was one person who succumbed to earlier wounds.
In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry said that since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, the total number of deaths has reached 687, with 1,845 people injured. It also noted that 756 bodies have been recovered over the same period.
The ministry added that the cumulative toll since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,263 deaths and 171,944 injuries.
On the third day of Eid, four Palestinians were killed and eight others injured on Sunday following an Israeli strike targeting a police vehicle in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. In a separate incident, another Palestinian was killed in a strike that hit a gathering of civilians in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
Al-Awda Hospital administration said in a statement that four bodies and eight wounded individuals arrived at the facility after an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle at the Abu Srar junction in Nuseirat camp.
The Gaza Interior Ministry stated that the targeted vehicle belonged to the police and was carrying out a work mission at the time of the strike, resulting in multiple casualties.
Authorities added that a number of victims remain trapped under rubble or lying in the streets, with ambulance and civil defense teams unable to reach them so far.
The ceasefire agreement followed two years of Israeli genocide that began on October 7, 2023, which caused extensive destruction across Gaza. The United Nations has estimated that about 90 percent of civilian infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, with reconstruction costs projected at around $70 billion.
