DaysofPal- A delegation from Hamas, led by Nizar Awadallah, held talks in Istanbul on Sunday with İbrahim Kalın to discuss recent developments in the Palestinian territories.
According to a statement issued by the movement, the meeting focused on the escalation of Israeli assault and ongoing violations in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
Particular attention was given to developments concerning Al-Aqsa Mosque, including its closure during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr for the first time since 1967, which the delegation described as unjustified.
The Hamas delegation stressed the need for international efforts to halt these measures and prevent the imposition of new realities on the ground.
Both sides also discussed steps related to completing the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and moving toward a second phase. They emphasized the importance of an immediate end to all forms of military action and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and essential infrastructure needs.
The talks addressed the rise in settler attacks in the West Bank, the expansion of settlements, and measures taken against Palestinians, including conditions faced by detainees in Israeli prisons.
The Hamas delegation expressed appreciation for Turkey’s support for the Palestinian people and praised the positions of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Turkish side, for its part, reiterated its ongoing efforts to address the humanitarian effects of the ongoing crisis and to establish a long-lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
