DaysofPal- The death toll in Gaza continues to climb rapidly following a night of intense Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks across the besieged territory, with reports of at least 26 Palestinians killed since dawn on Wednesday, according to medical sources.
The most devastating attack occurred overnight in Khan Younis, where an Israeli airstrike targeted a school sheltering displaced families. At least 18 people were killed in the strike, many of them newly displaced from eastern Khan Younis. The bombing underscores the ongoing collapse of any sense of “safe zones,” as areas designated for shelter continue to come under fire.
Other deadly incidents were reported across northern Gaza, including Jabalia and Gaza City. In southwest Gaza City, a man and his children were killed by an Israeli drone strike as they left the house where they were taking refuge in. Another drone attack in Jabalia killed two more civilians.
An Israeli airstrike on a tent housing displaced people in the port area of Gaza killed at least seven people and injured a number more. The victims were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital, which remains overwhelmed with casualties and critically short on medical supplies.
Further south, another displaced person was killed and others injured when a drone targeted a tent west of Khan Younis. Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes, supported by artillery shelling, struck the towns of Bani Suhaila and Abasan al-Kabira, both east of Khan Younis.
An Israeli airstrike on a tent settlement for displaced people in Gaza City’s Al-Rimal neighborhood, where thousands of people had sought refuge after fleeing violence in northern Gaza, killed eight more people and injured several more on Tuesday.
Adding to the chaos, Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on civilians near the Nablus roundabout, west of Gaza City, injuring an unspecified number of Palestinians.
Despite mounting international condemnation, including over attacks in the vicinity of designated “aid areas,” the Israeli military has reportedly imposed temporary restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid.
In the past 24 hours, 40 people have been killed, including one who was recovered, and 208 injured have arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health’s daily report. Yesterday’s death toll increased to 85.
The death toll and number of injuries since March 18, 2025, have reached 4,240 dead and 12,860 injured.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that a large number of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, inaccessible to ambulance crews and civil defense teams. The Israeli aggression has killed 54,510 people and injured 124,901 since October 7, 2023.
