DaysofPal – Israeli occupation forces bombed a food pantry in the Mawasi neighborhood of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, killing at least 10 Palestinians, the majority of whom were members of the same family, according to the Nasser Medical Complex.
The victims were identified as Jumaa Ishaq Shurab and his sons, Osama, Muhammad, Mahmoud, and Ahmed, alongside Jumaa Salem Shurab, Ahmed Diab Al-Aqqad, Zakaria Yousef Shabir, Izz Al-Din Nabil Badir, and Ibrahim Adel Al-Khatib.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that hospitals across the enclave received 77 bodies and 222 wounded in the past 24 hours, raising the total death toll since October 7, 2023, to 66,225 and the number of injured to 168,938.
Hospital sources added that 34 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Strip since dawn today, including four Palestinians who had been seeking aid. The escalation comes as Israel intensifies its bombardment on multiple fronts, targeting both northern and southern areas of Gaza.
Warplanes carried out successive strikes on the Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza City, alongside three raids on the eastern outskirts of Khan Yunis. In the west of Gaza, the al-Nasr neighborhood endured heavy artillery fire, while Maghazi refugee camp in the central governorate was also shelled.
In Gaza City, the Israeli army detonated an armored vehicle laden with explosives and used a drone to drop a smoke bomb inside the Hassan al-Basri School, which is sheltering displaced Palestinians.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, meanwhile, gave Gaza City’s citizens what he described as a “final warning,” telling them to leave the area right away or face being labeled “terrorists and terror supporters.”
Katz also confirmed that Israeli forces had taken control of the Netzarim crossing, effectively cutting off the northern part of Gaza from the south. He said any movement toward the south would now be controlled through Israeli military checkpoints.
