Colonial Israeli settlers installed caravans Sunday, November 5, 2022 on a Palestinian-owned land near the town of Aqraba in the occupied West Bank province of Nablus.
Ghassan Daghlas, a local Palestinian activist said that a group of nearly 50 Israeli settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Itamar broke into the land and embarked on installing caravans in a prelude to take it over.
There are over 650,000 colonial Israeli settlers living in Jewish-only settlements across the West Bank in violation of international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention which expressly bans the relocation of the occupying nation’s civilian population on the land of the occupied.
The settlement of Itamar is particularly notorious for its hardcore Jewish settler community that in the past carried out several attacks against Palestinians and their properties, including arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting crops and olive trees and attacks on vulnerable homes.
