A group of armed Israeli settlers attacked on Saturday, 25 February 2023 a Palestinain father along with his children, causing them bruises in the occupied West Bank city of Salfit.
Palestinan media source reported that armed Israeli settlers from the illegal settlement outpost of the Al-Ras area attacked the Palestinian man Fayez Abdel Dayem and his sons while they were working on their own land.
Abdel-Dayem said that armed settlers attacked and insulted them before an Israeli settler fired live bullets into the air and forced them to leave their land by force.
He added that the Israeli settlers broke and destroyed their vehicle, indicating that the attack was not the first and that settlers aim to seize their land in favor of expanding the settlement outpost that they established a while ago on the lands of the Palestinian citizens in the Al-Ras area.
In the same context, a group of colonial settlers stormed the Palestinian citizens’ lands in Silwad town, east of Ramallah, and vandalized an agricultural room, destroying its contents, stealing some of it, and cutting down trees in its vicinity.
In Nablus, settlers invade the village of Burin and set fire to two vehicles belonging to Palestinan resident Idris al-Hawari on the outskirts of the village.
Israeli settlers escalated their attacks against the Palestinian citizens’ own properties in the occuiped West Bank including attacking the Palestinian homes, sabotaging their cars, and blocking their roads.
In 2022, Israeli settlers carried out more than 290 attacks on Palestinians and their own property in the occupied West Bank, 230 of which caused property damage, and 60 of them caused injuries to Palestinian residents, according to United Nations reports.
More than 600,000 illegal settlers live in over 230 illegal settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The international community views the settlements — hundreds of which have been built across the West Bank since the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands in 1967 — as illegal under international law and the Geneva Conventions due to their construction on the occupied territories.
The UN Security Council has condemned Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied territories in several resolutions.
