Israeli settlers constructed a new settlement outpost in the Palestinian-owned lands in the occupied West Bank city of Qalqilia on Friday morning, February 17, 2023.
Local sources reported that settlers invaded Fara’ta village, east of occupied Qalqilia, and constructed several tents. The settlers also raised Israeli flags in the area.
The sources pointed out that Israeli settlers, intending to seize the area, brought flocks of sheep to graze in the surrounding Palestinian lands.
Israeli settlers use herding as a new tool to take over the grazing areas. They send livestock to graze in the lands until they take over them.
Israeli settlers, protected by Israeli occupation forces, regularly attack Palestinian people and lands in the Fara’ta village, east of occupied Qalqilia.
In 2018, Israeli occupation authorities transferred “Havat Gilad”, an Israeli outpost settlement in the area, to a large settlement, providing it with electricity and water services.
Israeli occupation authorities confiscated several Palestinian lands in favor of expanding the settlement. They seek to seize more areas for more settlement projects.
