Israeli occupation warplanes bombed on Sunday, 19 February 2023 several residential neighborhoods in Damascus, according to a Syrian state news agency.
The Syrian state news agency (SANA) reported that Israeli occupation warplanes carried out several airstrikes that targeted residential neighborhoods in Damascus, killing at least 5 Syrians and wounding 15 others including critical injuries.
State media published footage revealing that a 10-story building was badly damaged in the attack, crushing the structure of its lower floors.
Israeli occupation aggression led to massive destruction in a number of civilian homes, and material damage to a number of neighborhoods in and around Damascus, sources added.
Israel carried out hundreds of strikes on targets inside government-controlled parts of Syria in recent years, but rarely acknowledges or discusses the operations.
The war in Syria started in 2011 after the government responded violently to the country’s protest movement. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and half the country’s pre-war population of 23 million has been displaced.
