The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs reported, on Saturday evening, that the appeal trial session of the detainees had been postponed.
The commission said in a brief statement that the Gilboa escapees appeal session at the Nazareth central Israeli occupation court, which was scheduled to take place on the 6th of this month, was postponed to January 10, 2023.
The detainees who managed to extract their freedom from Gilboa prison through a tunnel they dug over a period of months, are Mahmoud Al-Ardah, Mohammed Al-Ardah, Ayham Kammaji, Yaqoub Qadri, Zakariya Al-Zubaidi and Manadel Anfiat, all of whom are from Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank.
On 22 May, the Israel occupation court sentenced these six detainees to an additional five-year term, and a fine of 5,000 shekels.
The sentences came at the request of the Israel occupation prosecutor last April to impose additional sanctions on them, and on 5 detainees accused by the occupation authorities of helping the six detainees’ escape.
