The Israeli occupation court extended on Sunday, October 2, 2022, the detention of Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawda for tomorrow, Monday.
Palestinian Lawyer Khaled Zabarka said that the occupation court decided to extend the detention of the Palestinian detainee Khalil Awawda until tomorrow, Monday, and the occupation prosecution did not present an indictment against him, as the occupation was supposed to release him, today, Sunday.
Lawyer Zabarka explained in a brief statement that the occupation was scheduled to release detainee Awawda today, according to an agreement between him and the prison administration, after he went on a hunger strike for more than 6 months.
In this context, the Awawda family said that the Israeli occupation court decided to postpone the session of the prisoner Khalil Awawdeh to tomorrow, Monday, to decide on the charge of using a mobile phone that he used to communicate with his family during a transfer from the hospital to the Israeli Ramle prison clinic.
It is noteworthy that on August 31, the hunger-striking Palestinian detainee, Khalil Awawda, suspended his 172-day hunger strike, after an agreement with the Israeli occupation prisons administration to end his administrative detention.
