Israeli occupation forces IOF Tuesday, July 11, 2023, handed Sheikh Akrama Sabri a travel ban for a period of six months.
According to Sheikh Akrama Sabri’s legal office, Israeli forces raided his home in the Swaneh neighborhood in Al-Tur without prior notice or consideration for the Sheikh’s well-being.
The office further stated that the forces delivered a travel ban to Sheikh Sabri, claiming that his travel poses a threat to the occupation.
Over the past years, Sheikh Sabri has faced numerous arrest warrants, interrogations, and restrictions, including being barred from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque and traveling.
The issue of travel bans on religious figures not only restricts their personal freedoms but also hinders their ability to fulfill their important role within their communities.
Palestinians continue to face significant challenges in exercising their basic rights, including the freedom to travel, as a result of the Israeli occupation.
