DaysofPal – Israeli forces continued to target residential areas in central and southern Gaza on Tuesday, carrying out multiple demolitions and airstrikes despite the ceasefire agreement in place since October 10.
Local sources reported that Israeli troops conducted at least four house demolitions since dawn in areas east of Gaza City, Al-Bureij, and Khan Younis. Loud explosions were heard across the eastern Gaza Strip, accompanied by heavy and indiscriminate gunfire in several areas to the east and north.
In southern Gaza, Palestinian media said that Israeli forces destroyed several buildings in the so-called Morag Corridor, a military zone Israel has established to separate Rafah from the rest of the enclave.
The Israeli army also launched three airstrikes and shelled residential structures east of Khan Younis, while naval gunboats fired shells toward the coast of Rafah.
Further north, east of Gaza City, Israeli troops reportedly blew up residential blocks, and drones dropped bombs near displaced persons’ camps in the vicinity of the Shuja’iyya junction. Witnesses said the attacks have intensified in recent days, indicating a pattern of systematic destruction.
According to local reports, Israeli forces appear to be executing a broader demolition plan aimed at flattening what remains of residential areas in the eastern Gaza Strip, an area that accounts for roughly half of Gaza’s total landmass.
At least 93 Palestinians have been killed and over 300 injured since the ceasefire began on October 10 due to ongoing Israeli violations. Rescue teams have also recovered the bodies of 464 people from under the rubble.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the total death toll from Israel’s assault on the enclave has now reached 68,519, with 170,382 others injured since the war began on October 7, 2023.
