Israeli occupation forces arrested seven Palestinians during large-scale military raids into several towns and villages of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday morning, September 19th, 2023, according to local sources.
Witnesses reported that a Palestinian young man, Mohanned Dweikat, was arrested while he was near the Hawara checkpoint, south of Nablus. His arrest ensued soldiers’ storming of his home in the early morning hours and taking his brother Ihab to a nearby investigation centre in an attempt to pressure Mohanned into surrendering.
Palestinian Prisoners’ Information Office confirmed that Israeli forces arrested other three Palestinian young men, Ezz al-Din Bari, Hammad Swan, and Mohammad Shabita from Qalqilya’s towns of Imatin, in the north, and Azzun town, in the east.
Three other Palestinians, Mahmoud Jawabra, Khalil Al-Kidnawi, and Luay Jawabra, were also detained in Hebron’s refugee camp of Al-Arroub.
In response, stone-throwing Palestinian youths targeted the Israeli army’s military jeeps with rocks and homemade explosive devices during their raids into Nablus.
Israeli forces’ immense raids into the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem are carried out on a daily basis, in which soldiers not only arrest the Palestinians but also wreak havoc on their houses and terrify children and women.
During the month of August, Israeli forces carried out a substantial wave of arrests targeting a total of 510 Palestinians, including 44 children and 7 women, across the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, as documented by the Palestinian Center for Prisoners’ Studies.
In Jerusalem, 2,190 Palestinians have been arrested since the beginning of the current year, marking a significant increase in arrest campaigns, according to the Palestinian Center for Prisoner Studies.
