DaysofPal – The ongoing Israeli war on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of more than 1,402 medical personnel, according to a statement released Monday, March 31, 2024, by the Government Media Office.
The statement, obtained by Days of Palestine, detailed the devastating toll on healthcare workers and emergency responders amid relentless attacks.
The statement further revealed that Israeli forces have killed 111 civil defense workers and arrested 362 healthcare professionals.
Among those detained, at least three doctors were tortured to death inside Israeli prisons. Additionally, 26 civil defense personnel were taken into Israeli custody.
The Israeli military’s assault has decimated Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure, the statement said. A total of 34 hospitals have been burned and rendered nonoperational due to bombardments and raids.
Furthermore, 80 health centers have been forced out of service, while 162 other medical facilities have been directly targeted.
The destruction extends to emergency response services, with 15 civil defense headquarters bombed and at least 142 ambulances either partially or completely destroyed.
Israeli forces have also targeted 54 fire trucks, rescue vehicles, and rapid intervention units across the besieged territory.
Early Tuesday morning, Israeli warplanes launched a new wave of intense attacks on Gaza, continuing what officials describe as a campaign of genocide.
The latest airstrikes killed 429 Palestinians, including children, and left more than 440 wounded—many in critical condition.
Since October 7, 2023, with full U.S. support, Israel has waged a devastating war on Gaza, killing and injuring more than 166,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children.
The onslaught has also left over 10,000 people missing and caused widespread famine, leading to the deaths of dozens of children in one of the world’s worst humanitarian catastrophes.
Despite mounting international pressure, Israel continues its crimes in blatant defiance of a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.
The assault also disregards orders from the International Court of Justice, which has mandated urgent measures to prevent genocide and address Gaza’s worsening humanitarian crisis.
