DaysofPal – A Palestinian resistance security source has revealed a significant shift in confrontations with the Israeli occupation since the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on October 9, 2025. According to the source, the post-ceasefire phase has taken on a markedly different security character compared to the period of the genocidal war and even compared to earlier phases preceding it.
In a statement to Quds Press, the source said the Israeli occupation has adopted a new security approach based on recruiting local collaborators to carry out rapid security operations without direct field intervention by Israeli forces. This strategy, the source explained, is aimed at minimizing Israeli military casualties.
The source noted that resistance fighters, using advanced surveillance and camouflage techniques, have successfully lured several of these collaborators into carefully planned ambushes.
Those apprehended were detained and interrogated, with confessions revealing that they had received instructions and operational plans directly overseen by Israel’s General Security Service, known as the Shin Bet.
The source said that these collaborators were assigned to carry out shooting attacks, apprehend resistance members, or sneak into resistance locations to obtain information about plans to rearrange resistance ranks.
It added that these individuals belong to armed militias stationed in eastern Gaza, maintaining direct ties with the Israeli army. They are reportedly sheltered in fortified locations under Israeli protection, while the army facilitates their movement into western areas of the Gaza Strip. This access, the source said, is enabled either under the guise of working with humanitarian relief organizations or through aid convoys.
In response, the resistance has developed a security plan focused on monitoring suspicious movements originating from within the area known as the “yellow line,” tracking militia activity routes, and neutralizing these elements through arrest or targeted action.
Investigations have also revealed that the Israeli army relies on drones to identify specific targets before passing coordinates and intelligence to these militias, enabling them to carry out field assassinations or arrests.
In a related development, the resistance-affiliated platform “Al-Hares” announced earlier this year that it had foiled an assassination attempt involving an explosive-laden motorbike. The vehicle was reportedly shipped into Gaza through a commercial company operating inside the occupied territories. Subsequent resistance investigations found an explosive device concealed within the bike’s battery.
The source noted that, as part of its handling of the collaborator file, the Palestinian resistance has kept the door open for repentance for those involved in collaboration, particularly individuals who did not take part in assassinations or cause the deaths of resistance fighters, leaders, or civilians.
Since October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip has been subjected to a genocidal assault involving killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and detention, in defiance of international appeals and orders issued by the International Court of Justice.
The assault has resulted in more than 242,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the majority of them women and children, along with around 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced and are living in dire conditions, while famine has claimed numerous lives and widespread destruction has erased much of Gaza’s cities.
