Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched today, Tuesday, February 7, 2023, intensive raids and arrests against Palestinian citizens in several cities and areas in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, most of them from the Burqin area and the city of Jenin.
The occupation forces detained about 35 Palestinian citizens during military incursions into separate areas in the West Bank and Jerusalem, affecting ex-detainees.
Among the ex-detainees were Anan Bashkar, Asim Bashkar, and Shadi Bashkar from Nablus, and Ahmed Yaqoub Al-Shamali from Hebron.
IOF detained two citizens from the city of Qalqilya, Ikrima Nofal and Murad Ishteiwi, in addition to the detention of Alaa Al-Shouani from occupied Jerusalem.
The detentions were mainly in the town of Burqin, west of Jenin, and targeted Abd al-Rahman Khallouf, Mustafa Hamido, Hani Ghanem, Rami Ghanem, Mohammad Mahamadeh, Mohammad Shalamish, Abdullah Lutfi Khalouf and his brother Nasser.
The Israeli occupation forces also detained Shadi Ghoneim, Mohammad Omar Khalouf, Mohammad Yousef Khalouf, Jihad Khalouf, Ahmed Abu Shadouf, Nadim Ateeq, Yazid Ateeq, Mohammad Amoud, Muhammad Sabah, and Mohammad Afana, from the town of Burqin.
The Israeli campaign of widespread detentions coincided with the murdered of a Palestinian boy by the occupation forces bullets at dawn today, as they stormed a residential neighborhood east of Nablus.
According to Palestinian figures, Israeli occupation holds currently 4,700 Palestinians, including 29 female prisoners, and 150 minors.
