DaysofPal- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) demolished seven Palestinian homes and a restaurant across various areas of the West Bank on Wednesday, citing the lack of building permits as justification.
One of the destroyed homes, in the Khallet Taha neighborhood close to Deir Samet village in southwest al-Khalil, was demolished without warning, according to local sources.
The IOA claimed it was built in Area C, where Israel maintains full control over planning and construction. The house had previously sheltered a family of nine before they were forcibly evicted by the Israeli army in October 2023. The displaced family now resides with relatives in Kharsa village.
In Jericho, five inhabited homes and fences in the village of Duyuk at-Tahta were also demolished.
Meanwhile, in Deir Ballut town, west of Salfit, Israeli forces bulldozed another inhabited home that had stood for five years. In recent months, the IOA has intensified demolitions in Deir Ballut, tearing down nearly 10 homes and rooms while also uprooting around 50 olive trees.
Bethlehem also witnessed demolitions, as Israeli authorities razed a restaurant in Beit Jala belonging to a Jerusalem-based Palestinian citizen. Dozens of olive trees and century-old stone fences in Beit Jala were also destroyed.
In Tulkarem, Israeli forces carried out a punitive demolition in Shuweika suburb, leveling the home of martyr Tamer Faqha.
The family had received a demolition notice in November 2024, months after Faqha was killed in an Israeli raid on May 4, 2024, in Deir al-Ghusun town. He had been accused of carrying out a shooting attack in November 2023 that resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier near Beit Lid town, east of Tulkarem.
