In a press release, today Tuesday, July 19th, the Insan center for Democracy and Rights-Gaza, condemns the escalation of arrests in the occupied Palestinian territories (Jerusalem and the West Bank), which targets dozens of Palestinians on a daily basis, during military raids, and on Israeli-managed crossings
The Israeli occupation forces arrested, today Tuesday 19 July 2022, more than 12 citizens from diverse areas in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, depriving them of their right to freedom of movement. During their arrests, Palestinians are subjected to inhumane torture and humiliation.
The arrests carried out by the Israeli occupation forces come as one part of its multi-faceted racist policy, and the persecution of Palestinians and their relatives, in a way that shows its ingrained fascist authoritarianism against the Palestinians, and its immoral practice, through the torture they expose detainees to during arrests and Investigations while humiliating human dignity.
In the first half of 2022, the Israeli occupation forces made (3873) arrests, distributed to areas with (1896) from Occupied Jerusalem and (64) from Gaza. The administrative arrest orders reached (862) between new administrative decisions and renewed ones
Insan Center sees that the Israeli Occupation practices against Palestinians in all the occupied territories, highlights the true face of this occupation that feeds on racism, persecution, arrest, displacement, and murder.
With that, completely disregarding international humanitarian laws and international human rights laws.
Arrests deprive Palestinian citizens of their most basic rights, especially their right to life and proper living, right to mobility, and all the other amenable rights that are guaranteed to every human being.
Insan Center for Democracy and Rights, continues its condemnation of the cruel and inhuman treatment of Palestinians from the moment they are arrested, and through their detention, investigation, and imprisonment inside the Israeli jails up to the moment of trial or release.
Insan calls on the United Nations and relevant organizations to work hard to stop these systematic arrest campaigns of the Palestinians and to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its racist crimes against the Palestinians
Insan calls on the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide protection to Palestinian detainees to ensure their rights, until their release.
