Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) barbarically increased its attacks on Palestinian citizens Sunday evening, February 26, 2023 in most West-Bank cities after two Israeli settlers were killed today.
The director of the Tuqu’ municipality, Tayseer Abu Mufreh, stated that the clashes erupted after the occupation forces stormed the town of Tuqu’, closed its northern and western entrances, and stationed in the areas of Sahl al-Baqi’a and al-Shurafa in the town. He added that the Israeli occupation soldiers also closed the main street that passes through Khirbet al-Deir, in the center of the town.
Meanwhile in Nablus, occupation forces closed the entrance to the town of Beita, south of Nablus, as local sources reported that a bulldozer belonging to IOF closed the main entrance to Beita with cement blocks.
IOF also closed the Shufa military checkpoint at the entrance to the village, southeast of Tulkarm, and the Annab checkpoint, east of the governorate, and impeded the movement of citizens. They stationed at the Shufa checkpoint, searched the vehicles entering Tulkarm, checked the identities of their passengers, and held their cars for a long time, which caused a traffic jam.
The official in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank, Ghassan Douglas, said that a group of Israeli settlers assaulted the Palestinian citizen, Moataz Anis Al-Deek, in the town of Huwwara, which led to his injury as he was transferred to Ibn Sina Emergency Department. He added that settlers burned houses in the town belonging to Palestinian citizens.
