Illegal Israeli Settlers Let Livestock Herd near Palestinian Bedouin Homes

Israeli settlers try to rebuild a new illegal outpost in the West Bank for the second time on January 22, 2023. On Friday, Israeli army evacuates of an illegal outpost set up overnight in the West Bank. More than 700,000 Israeli settlers live in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to official Palestinian figures. Israel occupied the West Bank in 1967 and has since established settlements on it, a move considered a violation of international law and a major source of conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Illegal Israeli settlers allowed their animals to graze on Thursday near the homes of Bedouin Palestinians in the alMuarjat locale, located west of the Jericho city in the illegally occupied West Bank.

WAFA reported that the leader of AlBaidar Organization for Bedouin Rights, Hasan Malheiat, informed them that three armed settlers had unlawfully constructed outposts on lands belonging to the Bedouin community, which is located west of Jericho. Additionally, they were herding their livestock near Palestinian residences in the area.

He pointed out that the settlers goal in engaging in these activities is to take possession of more land belonging to Palestinians in order to expand the settlements and prevent people from making use of their lands.
