DayofPal– Gaza’s Health Ministry has urgently called on the world for shrouds to cover the bodies of the killed people, highlighting that the crews have been using blankets instead.
Since the onset of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, over 42,000 Palestinians have been killed, marking a devastating chapter in the region’s history.
The ministry wrote on its official Telegram channel that “It is very cold these days; blankets are extremely needed, yet they are used to cover the bodies of the slain Palestinians because hospitals have run out of shrouds.”
“We don’t need food nor drink as we will be murdered soon. Please send some shrouds to cover our corpses so that you won’t be disgusted by the scenes of our blood and wounds,” it added.
Director of the Ministry of Health in Gaza also said that the Israeli occupation has killed more than 700 people in northern Gaza during 19 days of siege, adding that 1,000 medical staff in the Gaza Strip have been killed since Oct. 7, 2023.
Tragic conditions also unfold at Kamal Adwan and the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, where casualties are reported every minute. Due to the ongoing Israeli blockade, supplies, including shrouds, are running out.
He added that hospitals in northern Gaza will turn into mass graves if the Israeli aggression continues amid international silence at a time the Israeli occupation has made hospitals a primary target in its plan to displace the population from the northern Gaza Strip.
“What the Israeli occupation is doing in northern Gaza is a complete war crime,” the ministry concluded.
