DaysofPal- The Hamas Movement has welcomed Egypt’s recent position calling for the continuation of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, describing it as a responsible stance that reflects an understanding of the needs of the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem praised remarks made by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty during a meeting with Nikolay Mladenov.
The Egyptian minister stressed the importance of completing the implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, facilitating the entry of a national committee into the Gaza Strip, deploying international forces to separate Israeli forces from residents of the enclave, and initiating early recovery efforts.
Qassem said that Egypt’s position, which outlines clear priorities for implementing the agreement, represents the correct path toward fully executing the ceasefire deal.
He added that the Egyptian stance provides significant support to ongoing efforts aimed at organizing humanitarian and administrative conditions in Gaza, helping to ease the suffering of civilians and create the necessary conditions for early recovery.
The statement highlights Egypt’s continued role as a key mediator in efforts to stabilize the situation in Gaza and advance ceasefire arrangements.
