Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem has warned that the so-called flag march in Occupied Jerusalem on Sunday is a grave provocation to the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic nations.

Qassem said in a press statement on Sunday that the flag march could ignite unexpected explosions, warning Israel of crossing red lines or else resistance will not remain silent.

Qassem added, “We are following up on all the details and developments of the situation in Jerusalem and the resistance will certainly have its decisive position to defend our sanctities and our people, and it will not hesitate to perform this duty.”

Qassem added that the Palestinian people are ready to defend Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque and make sacrifices to preserve the Palestinian Arab-Islamic identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, warning that the response will come from every corner.

Qassem pointed out that the Movement’s leadership informed all parties that what is happening in Jerusalem is a real provocation to the feelings of the Palestinian people and cannot be tolerated.

“Our Palestinian people will do everything they can to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem,” Qassem asserted.

He called on the Palestinian people in the West Bank to mobilize and raise Palestinian flags in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque to confront the settlers’ incursion into the holy Islamic site.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed the Aqsa mosque today’s morning chanting anti-Arab phrases and performing Talmudic rituals in yards of the 3rd holiest Islamic place, provoking the feelings of Millions of Muslims and Palestinians.

Israeli occupation forces accompanied the Israeli settlers and provided them protection while storming the yards of Aqsa.

Israeli forces detained a number of Palestinian worshipers in the Aqsa mosque in an attempt to clear the mosque’s compound for Israeli settlers.

Such Israeli provocation comes in spite of frequent warnings for Israeli occupation not to violate the sanctity of Islamic holy places in the occupied city of Jerusalem, especially the Aqsa mosque.

The Israeli occupation declared lately a March of flags will be held by Israeli settlers in the occupied city of Jerusalem and it will go through the Islamic compound of Aqsa mosque which has been deemed by Palestinian resistance as a declaration of war that crosses red lines that cannot pass without price.

Many International parties have urged the Israeli occupation not to go on in the Israeli provocative march, but the Israeli occupation turned a deaf ear to such warnings.

In 2015, Israeli settlers held the march of flags and violated the Aqsa compound by suppressing Palestinian prayers in the yards of the mosque leaving hundreds injured including men, women, and the elderly.

The Israeli violations sparked an 11-day-long Israeli war upon Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and lands occupied in 1948, killing 232 Palestinians including 65 children, 39 women.

Some 2000 Palestinians were also injured and hundreds of homes and facilities were destroyed.
