DaysofPal- Hamas has called for immediate action from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in response to the findings outlined in a report by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry.
The report, which highlights the genocidal actions and violations perpetrated by Israeli forces in Palestinian territories, has prompted the movement to demand that the international community take the matter seriously.
The statement, issued Thursday, underscores the severity of the crimes documented in the report. It accuses the Israeli occupation forces of engaging in genocide-related acts, including widespread torture, sexual harassment, and systematic abuse in detention facilities. According to Hamas, these findings confirm the ongoing “horrific crimes” being committed by what they describe as the “fascist occupation government” of Israel.
In its statement, Hamas draws attention to what it characterizes as unprecedented violations of international law, particularly the devastation caused in Gaza.
“The report verified that the government of terrorist Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, imposed a total blockade, prevented food, medicine, and other necessities from entering the Gaza Strip, and purposefully and methodically destroyed hospitals and health facilities. These are blatant war crimes and full-fledged acts of genocide.”
Hamas also highlighted the international community’s indifference to the plight of Palestinians, emphasizing that the silence of the United Nations and other global institutions has allowed these abuses to persist.
“The report’s reference to the international community’s disdain and denial of the crimes and violations committed against the Palestinians calls for a serious stance from all countries of the world, as well as the United Nations and its institutions, to break out of silence and inaction, and to take effective measures to deter this fascist Zionist gang, halt its crimes, and compel it to implement the terms of the signed ceasefire agreement,” Hamas stated.
Building on previous UN reports detailing similar violations, Hamas reiterated its call for global judicial institutions such as the ICC, ICJ, and other legal bodies to conduct an urgent investigation into the Independent International Commission of Inquiry’s findings and hold Israeli officials accountable for their crimes.
