DaysofPal- The Hamas Movement said its leadership met Saturday in Istanbul with Turkish intelligence chief İbrahim Kalın to discuss the second phase of the ceasefire agreement – “to end the war” and to discuss “fulfillment of the requirements of the first phase.”
In a statement, Hamas said the delegation was headed by Khalil al-Hayya, head of the movement in Gaza, and included Zaher Jabareen, head of Hamas in the West Bank; senior leader Mahmoud Mardawi; and Hamas’s representative in Turkey, Mousa Aqqari.
The resistance group said both sides agreed to “continue consultations and joint coordination” aimed at “ending the suffering of our people.”
The statement links that to concrete steps, including “the start of work of the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip,” “the opening of the Rafah crossing in both directions,” and the entry of “what is required to provide relief and shelter for our people.”
The Movement said the talks reaffirmed “the steadfast principles of the Palestinian people,” signaling that governance and reconstruction discussions remain tied to core political demands. Hamas also said the delegation thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğa for his and Turkey’s efforts in the ceasefire and post-war diplomacy.
