DaysofPal— Hamas on Thursday condemned recent statements by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the displacement of Gaza’s population, describing them as evidence of a broader plan to uproot Palestinians from their land and undermine their national cause.
Hazem Qassem, spokesperson for Hamas, said in a press statement that Katz’s remarks reflect the continued pursuit of policies aimed at forcibly removing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
He warned that such positions signal an intention by the Israeli occupation to evade its obligations and overturn the ceasefire agreement by maintaining political and military pressure on Gaza’s population.
Qassem called on Arab countries and international mediators to take urgent action to confront the Israeli displacement schemes, urging them to prevent attempts to impose new realities on the ground and effectively eliminate the Palestinian cause.
He stressed that the Palestinian people would remain steadfast in their land and committed to their national rights, despite ongoing war, attacks, and a continuing blockade.
Katz had stated on Wednesday that a plan to relocate Gaza residents, described by Israeli officials as voluntary migration, would be implemented.
