DaysofPal- The Hamas Movement has expressed its support for the extraordinary Arab summit held in Cairo, which focused on the threats facing the Palestinian people and their national cause amid Israeli efforts to displace them from their land.
In a statement issued Tuesday evening, Hamas described the summit as an “advanced stage of the Arab and Islamic support for the just Palestinian cause.”
The movement commended the speeches delivered by leaders and officials at the summit, highlighting their nations’ firm rejection of Israeli attempts to force Palestinians from their homes and seize their land. Hamas also welcomed their reaffirmation of support for Palestinian rights.
Hamas also urged the provision of resources to ensure the success of the reconstruction plan for Gaza, praising the Arab summit’s endorsement of it in its final statement. The group affirmed its backing for any initiative that benefits the Palestinian people and helps mitigate the consequences of Israeli aggression.
Hamas also announced its support for the summit’s decision to establish a community support committee responsible for managing Gaza’s affairs, including relief and reconstruction efforts.
The movement called for concrete measures to pressure the Israeli government into upholding its commitments under the ceasefire agreement and allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza.
According to the summit’s final declaration, Arab leaders warned that any attempts to displace Palestinians or annex occupied Palestinian territories would escalate tensions, destabilize the region, and spread the conflict to other countries.
They pledged financial, material, and political backing for Gaza’s reconstruction plan and urged the international community to provide immediate support.
The summit also underscored the urgency of implementing the second and third phases of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.
The Arab leaders stressed that both parties, particularly Israel, must fulfill their commitments to achieve a lasting ceasefire in Gaza.
They also called for unhindered access to humanitarian, medical, and shelter aid, as well as Israel’s complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, including the Philadelphi Corridor along the Egyptian border.
As part of their commitment to Gaza’s recovery, Arab leaders announced plans to establish a trust fund to manage financial contributions from donor countries and institutions to support reconstruction efforts.
