A six-year-old Palestinian child was injured on Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle driven by an Israeli settler in the occupied city of Hebron, in the southern West Bank.
According to local sources and eyewitnesses, the child, identified as Mukhlis Ammar Mahmoud Al-Salaymeh, was hit near Israeli military Checkpoint 160 at the entrance to Al-Salaymeh neighborhood in Hebron’s Old City.
The settler reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident. Palestinian Red Crescent Society medics transported the child to a hospital for medical treatment. No further details on his condition were immediately available.
The incident comes amid escalating settler violence across the occupied West Bank. Approximately 750,000 Israeli settlers live in 141 settlements and 224 settlement outposts throughout the territory, including around 250,000 in 15 settlements built in and around occupied East Jerusalem. Palestinian officials say daily attacks by settlers are part of broader efforts to forcibly displace Palestinian communities.
Data released by the Palestinian Information Center “Mu’ta” showed that Israeli forces and settlers carried out 6,856 violations across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem during June 2026.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 11,074 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers during the first half of 2026, reflecting a significant escalation in violence throughout the occupied West Bank.
