DaysofPal- A senior Hamas delegation met with Mikhail Bogdanov, Russia’s deputy foreign minister and special representative to the Middle East and Africa, in Doha on Sunday.
The discussions focused on the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the ongoing Israeli violations of the agreement, particularly Israel’s obstruction of essential supplies into Gaza.
The Hamas officials highlighted the Israeli blockade, which continues to prevent critical resources, such as fuel, heavy machinery, tents, and caravans, from entering the besieged enclave.
They also addressed the worsening conditions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, attributing the deterioration to Israeli actions, including the systematic destruction of infrastructure in West Bank towns and refugee camps.
The Hamas delegation reaffirmed their movement’s commitment to the Gaza ceasefire agreement, stressing the need for Israel to comply with all the terms.
They also called for increased Russian support in addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of Gaza and emphasized the importance of Russia’s role in championing Palestinian rights.
In response, Bogdanov reiterated Russia’s long-standing support for Palestinian rights and its commitment to the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
He expressed Russia’s strong position against any external imposition of solutions on the Palestinian people and affirmed his country’s support for unconditionally allowing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The Hamas delegation was led by Mohammed Darwish, chairman of its leadership council, and included prominent figures such as Khaled Mishaal, head of the foreign bureau; Dr Mousa Abu Marzouk, head of the international relations bureau; and Sami Khater, a member of the political bureau.
