DaysofPal- A delegation from Hamas, led by Khalil Al-Hayya, left Cairo after meeting with Major General Hassan Rashad, the head of Egyptian General Intelligence. The meeting focused on efforts to negotiate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas issued a statement on the Telegram platform, stating that the Hamas leadership delegation, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, left Cairo after holding a meeting with the Egyptian Minister of General Intelligence on Sunday.

During the meeting, they discussed efforts to ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the role of the Community Support Committee in the region.

The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to “ensuring the success of these efforts and ending the aggression against our people.”
Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported that a Hamas delegation led by senior leader Khalil Al-Hayya arrived in Cairo on Saturday for a meeting with the head of Egyptian intelligence.

The newspaper stated on Sunday that “the Egyptians are pushing for a deal to release prisoners, while also trying to strengthen reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah.”

For the 429th day in a row, the Israeli occupation forces, backed by the US and Europe, continue their attack on the Gaza Strip. Israeli airstrikes are targeting the areas surrounding hospitals, buildings, towers, and civilian homes, destroying them over the heads of their inhabitants. The siege also prevents the entry of water, food, medicine, and fuel.

The aggression has resulted in the deaths of more than 44,600 people, the majority of whom are women and children, and wounded over 106,050 Palestinians. More than 10,000 people are missing amid widespread destruction and famine that has killed dozens of children and the elderly in one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
