DaysofPal – Hamas has welcomed the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, calling for its days and nights to serve as a season of steadfastness, solidarity, and mutual support, and for it to become a month dedicated to backing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement, the movement urged that Ramadan reinforce values of compassion and unity with Palestinians in Gaza, highlighting their patience and steadfastness. It called for efforts to ease their suffering, heal their wounds, and strengthen their resilience, while expressing support for those maintaining a presence in Jerusalem and at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Hamas said Ramadan represents a major spiritual occasion that brings together Muslims worldwide and embodies principles of charity, mercy, and generosity. It described the month as an opportunity for serious and sustained action by states, governments, organizations, and institutions across various arenas to stand with the people of Gaza, alleviate hardship, end the blockade, and reinforce their ability to remain on their land.
The movement also called on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem, and within Israel to mobilize all efforts throughout the holy month by maintaining a constant presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque through prayer, vigil, and religious retreat.
Hamas urged that Ramadan be dedicated to worship, steadfastness, and resistance against Israel and groups of Israeli settlers, and to the defense and protection of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque from ongoing violations.
Hamas further encouraged Palestinians and supporters around the world to continue broad solidarity efforts during Ramadan through initiatives and activities in support of Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. It called for sustained participation in global movements seeking to end the blockade and halt the ongoing assault.
