DaysofPal- Gaza’s Interior Ministry warned that a widening disaster loomed as winter conditions intensified, citing the continued Israeli blockade, the ban on reconstruction, and the denial of temporary housing materials. Officials said thousands of families remained trapped in structurally damaged buildings vulnerable to collapse.
In a statement, the ministry said at least 18 Palestinians had been killed since the October ceasefire after 46 buildings collapsed across Gaza’s governorates, as weakened structures gave way under rain, cold, and accumulated war damage.
The ministry stressed that without urgent permission to rebuild and allow temporary housing into the besieged Strip, the death toll was likely to rise, warning that Israel’s ongoing restrictions were turning post-war ruins into a slow-moving catastrophe for civilians.
