DaysofPal- Israeli forces have continued to target new areas across the Gaza Strip, including the southern, central, and northern regions, as part of an ongoing military offensive.

In the last few hours, the Israeli military dropped leaflets in the northern parts of Gaza, specifically in Beit Hanoun, instructing Palestinians to evacuate their homes. Additional leaflets were dropped over Khan Younis, urging residents to move to the western part of al-Mawasi.

Avichay Adraee, the military’s Arabic language spokesperson, renewed calls for residents in several neighborhoods in eastern Gaza to evacuate. The areas affected by the warning include Beit Hanoun, Khirbet Khuza’a, Abasan al-Kabira, and Abasan al-Jadida.

Adraee emphasized the urgency of leaving these regions, asserting that civilians who remain in these areas are putting their lives at risk. He instructed those in danger to seek shelter in western Gaza City or Khan Younis.

However, many Palestinians in Beit Hanoun and other northern areas have decided not to follow the evacuation orders. They say they have “nothing to lose” and are unwilling to repeat the painful experience of displacement. The decision to stay reflects the deep frustration and fear felt by many who have already endured multiple displacements.

The head of the UN human rights office in the occupied Palestinian territories, Ajith Sunghay, strongly criticized the latest displacement orders issued by the Israeli military, calling them “unacceptable.”

During a UN press briefing on Tuesday, Sunghay expressed his concerns, saying, “Israeli military had issued displacement orders from several parts of Gaza, indicating a return to a pattern that had previously led to the displacement of 90% of the Palestinian population in the region, often multiple times.”

He added, “It is unacceptable, even unimaginable, to once again find ourselves talking about this instead of supporting a path towards meaningful recovery and sustainable peace.”

These displacement orders come amid a new wave of devastating Israeli airstrikes, which have already killed hundreds of Palestinians, including many women and children.

On Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes killed over 400 people and injured hundreds more, marking one of the deadliest single-day tolls since the start of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza in October 2023. The attacks shattered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had lasted nearly two months.

Since the beginning of the conflict in October 2023, nearly 50,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women and children, and more than 112,000 others have been injured in the ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza.
