DaysofPal- Three staff members at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza were injured, one critically, when the facility’s courtyard was bombed again by the Israeli military on Tuesday. This marks the fifth attack on the hospital in recent weeks.
At least one Israeli quadcopter was involved in the strike. One of the injured staff members is currently in the intensive care unit, according to medical sources.
The hospital’s director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, confirmed that drones dropped bombs, scattering shrapnel across the site during the attack.
“The situation has become extremely dangerous,” the hospital director said in a statement released by Gaza’s Health Ministry.
“We are exhausted by the ongoing violence and atrocities,” added Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, who himself was wounded last month by an Israeli drone strike at the hospital, suffering injuries to his thigh and back.
Just one week earlier, an Israeli drone strike killed Dr. Ahmed al-Kahlout, the director of the Intensive Care Unit at Kamal Adwan Hospital, as he was reportedly passing through the hospital gate. The facility has been under a prolonged Israeli military siege in northern Gaza.
Meanwhile, reports indicate a rise in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City, where Al-Ahli Hospital is overwhelmed by the influx of casualties.
In the northern part of the Gaza Strip, people are witnessing an escalation of genocidal acts and ethnic cleansing, while hospitals have been forced out of service. The entire region is now reliant on a single operational health facility, which is functioning at the lowest possible capacity.
