Medical sources in the Gaza Strip have reported that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli assault has risen to 72,333 Palestinians killed, with 172,202 others injured since October 7, 2023.
According to the sources, hospitals across Gaza received four new fatalities and 10 injuries over the past 24 hours.
They added that since the ceasefire declared on October 11, the number of those killed has reached 754, with a total of 2,100 injuries recorded. In addition, 760 bodies have been recovered during this period.
Medical officials noted that several victims remain trapped under the rubble or in the streets, as ambulance and rescue teams continue to face serious obstacles in reaching them due to ongoing conditions on the ground.
The Israeli assault on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, and has since developed into one of the most devastating military campaigns against Palestinians in recent years. The offensive has involved intensive airstrikes, ground operations, and widespread destruction of residential neighborhoods, infrastructure, and essential services.
At the same time, the ongoing blockade imposed by Israel has significantly restricted the entry of food, fuel, medical supplies, and humanitarian aid, deepening the humanitarian crisis across the Gaza Strip.
Despite the announcement of a ceasefire in October, violations and continued attacks have been reported, contributing to the rising number of casualties. Many victims are still missing under the rubble, while rescue efforts are severely limited by a lack of equipment and access.
The situation continues to raise serious concerns over the protection of civilians, as more than two million Palestinians in Gaza remain trapped under siege and ongoing military aggression.
