DaysofPal – A Palestinian man was killed on Monday morning in an Israeli strike on the Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City, according to medical sources. The incident occurred as Israeli forces continued their violations of the ceasefire agreement.
A medical source confirmed that the man was shot and killed by Israeli fire in eastern Gaza. Israeli forces also carried out artillery shelling and opened fire in several areas across the Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported artillery bombardment east of Khan Younis and Rafah in the southern part of the territory. Israeli naval boats fired toward the coast of Gaza City, while the eastern outskirts of the city were also subjected to artillery shelling.
On Sunday, 12 Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli strikes. Israeli forces later resumed artillery shelling in areas where troops are stationed east of Khan Younis. Shelling also targeted areas east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, and military vehicles opened fire east of Al-Bureij refugee camp.
Palestinian media outlets reported injuries resulting from the artillery attacks on Khan Younis. The shelling was accompanied by heavy gunfire in areas where Israeli forces are deployed east of the city.
Since the ceasefire agreement took effect, Israeli violations have resulted in the killing of 618 Palestinians, including 194 children and 84 women, and the injury of 1,602 others.
Since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, more than 72,000 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 172,000 wounded. More than 8,000 people remain missing. Approximately 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has been destroyed, with the United Nations estimating reconstruction costs at around $70 billion.
