Five police officers were killed this afternoon in an Israeli air raid targeting their vehicle, according to Gaza’s Interior Ministry. The strike is the latest incident in a series of Israeli attacks targeting Palestinian policemen in Gaza.
“The Israeli occupation continues its crimes against our people, as well as its direct targeting of members of the police force as part of its efforts to strike the home front and spread chaos in the Gaza Strip,” the ministry stated.
The Interior Ministry condemned the attack, describing it as a deliberate act of aggression aimed at destabilizing the region and harming civil protection personnel.
“We call on the international community to put pressure on the occupation to stop its direct and repeated targeting of police officers, as they are civil protection personnel, as targeting them is a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law,” the ministry added.
The incident has drawn sharp criticism from local authorities and human rights organizations, who argue that such actions exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and violate international legal norms.
