The European Union condemned the demolition of the Palestinian Isfi Elementary Mixed School in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, by the Israeli occupation forces.
In a statement issued on Friday, November 25, 2022, the European Union affirmed that the demolitions carried out by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians are illegal under international law, calling for respect for children’s right to education.
It said that this unacceptable development comes at a time when 1,200 Palestinians in Masafer Yatta are still at risk of forcible deportation, following the Israeli court’s decision last May, in addition to the restrictions imposed on their movement and the movement of teachers and humanitarian aid crews.
The European Union called on the Israeli occupation to stop all demolitions and evictions, which exacerbate the suffering of the Palestinians and increase tension in an already tense environment.
Last Wednesday, the Israeli occupation forces demolished the Palestinian Isfi Elementary Mixed School in Masafer Yatta, Hebron, which serves dozens of Palestinian students in the city.
