DaysofPal- Since the outbreak of the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza, more than 658,000 children have been forced out of school, and more than 90% of the educational facilities in the Strip have been damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations.
Reports indicate that a significant portion of the war’s victims are students and children, with the number of children killed reaching over 20,000, nearly 60% of them school students.
Despite these dire circumstances, some children continue their studies in makeshift classrooms, often set up in tents or partially damaged buildings.
These tents suffer from extreme heat and a complete lack of the most basic learning facilities, such as chairs, desks, and blackboards, forcing children to sit on the ground to learn, which greatly increases their suffering.
Most schools in Gaza have been destroyed by Israeli bombardment.
At the same time, displaced families have taken over the few that remain standing as temporary shelters after being expelled and uprooted from their homes.
Humanitarian organizations are trying to provide basic educational supplies such as books, notebooks, and pens, as well as psychological support for children traumatized by the war and the loss of their homes and family members.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, some children continue to pursue their education, striving to revive their school routine and keep hope alive amid destruction and displacement.
