The BDS movement in Germany condemned Sunday, February 25, 2023, the human rights violations committed by the German government against Palestinians and supporters of the Palestinian cause, describing these practices as racist.
This came during a stand in the German capital, Berlin, in which dozens of Palestinians and supporters of the Palestinian cause participated, in solidarity with the Palestinian detainees in the occupation prisons and in rejection of the Israeli crimes and the occupation’s continuous aggression against the Palestinians in the West Bank, the latest of which was the Nablus massacre.
The BDS movement affirmed that the German state is a partner in the crimes of Zionist apartheid against the Palestinians in occupied Palestine. The participants also expressed their rejection of the Zionist massacres against the Palestinian people and their solidarity with the Palestinian detainees inside the Israeli prisons.
During the vigil, the participants raised Palestinian flags and banners demanding the freedom of Palestinian detainees. They also called to confront Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and to raise the Palestinian voice loudly in European countries.
The participants called on the international community, human rights institutions, and European governments to stand up to their responsibilities and to stop what they described as negligence and conspiracy against the Palestinian people.
This vigil comes at a time when camps, villages, and cities of the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, are witnessing a massive military escalation launched by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians, which has led to the death of more than 60 Palestinians since the beginning of this year, in addition to hundreds of injuries and arrests.
