Horrific Massacres Unfolded in Al-Shuja’iya after the Israeli army withdrew from the neighborhood.
The Palestinian Civil Defence held Thursday July 11th, 2024 a press conference detailing about its testimonies and observations in the Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood of Gaza City following Israeli troop’s withdrew on Wednesday.
The army spent a devastating two-week raid on the neighborhood, turning it into a disaster area that is uninhabitable.
Spokesman of Palestinian Civil Defence Mahmoud Basal said that Civil defence teams recovered more than 60 bodies in a preliminary count; many were found killed in the streets while dozens more are still buried under rubble.
More than 85 percent of the buildings in Shujaiya are now uninhabitable, he added.
Survivors said that the Israeli army targeted fleeing and displaced people after giving them permission to pass through ‘safe routs’.
“We declare Al-Shuja’iya uninhabitable area due to the Israeli aggression, and lacking basic life necessities.”
The spokesperson further revealed that that Israeli troops targeted the Sabiha Medical Clinic, preventing more than 60,000 people from receiving medical services in the neighbourhood.
“We demand the urgent provision of fuel and equipment to the civil defence team so that they can perform their duty.”
