The Act for Palestine Foundation expressed Sunday, May 7, 2023, its strong support for Democratic Congresswoman Betty McCollum to reintroduce the Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation Act for the 118th Congress.
“The Act for Palestine Foundation strongly supports Democratic Congresswoman Betty McCollum to reintroduce a bill that would prohibit US aid to Israel from contributing to the detention of Palestinian children and military activities that would facilitate further unilateral annexation and violations against defenseless Palestinians,” stated Act for Palestine.
It added, “Every year, the United States provides at least $3.8 billion in military aid to Israel, which contributes to the daily killing of defenseless Palestinians while attempting to block international efforts to condemn Israeli violations, including at the United Nations.”
Act for Palestine confirmed that the Israeli occupation is imposing an institutionalized regime of oppression and apartheid on the Palestinian people and depriving them of their basic human rights.
On May 5, Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) and colleagues have reintroduced a law that prohibits the Israeli occupation government from using U.S. taxpayer dollars in the Occupied West Bank for the military detention of Palestinian children, the seizure and destruction of Palestinian property and homes, or unilateral annexation of Palestinian lands in violation of international humanitarian law.
