A Jerusalemite Prisoner Enters his 21st year of Detention in the Occupation Prison


The Jerusalemite prisoner, Ramadan Mashhara, 46, from Jabal Mukaber, entered his 21st consecutive year inside the occupation prisons.

Mashhara was arrested on the 6th of July 2002, and after his arrest, he faced a brutal interrogation at the “Al-Maskoubiya” interrogation center and later was sentenced to life imprisonment 20 times.

He was subjected to solitary confinement several times. He is married and the father of two girls. When he was arrested, his wife was pregnant with his youngest child, and the Israel occupation demolished his family home

The prisoner has a brother, also detained by the Israeli occupation, called Fahmy Mashhara, and is also sentenced to life imprisonment 20 times.

The prisoner is considered one of the prominent and active prisoners in the occupation prisons on many levels, including the intellectual and cultural levels.
