DaysofPal — The Gaza Center for Human Rights has warned that continued Israeli violations of the Gaza ceasefire are worsening the already dire humanitarian situation in the enclave.
In a statement issued Saturday, the center said Israeli forces have breached the ceasefire agreement for the 168th consecutive day through direct killings, air and artillery strikes, and attacks on civilian gatherings, undermining the core of the agreement and perpetuating the ongoing war crimes.
Field monitoring teams documented a series of recent attacks across Gaza, resulting in multiple casualties. Among the latest incidents, the center reported that two brothers, Fahmi and Saed Qaddoum, were shot dead by Israeli forces east of Gaza City on Saturday morning. In contrast, several others were injured, including one in critical condition.
The organization also cited an Israeli airstrike on Deir al-Balah in central Gaza on March 25, which killed 22-year-old Abdul Rahman Mohammad Qanbour and injured others.
In a separate incident on March 24, an Israeli drone strike near Al-Sawarha cemetery southwest of Nuseirat refugee camp killed two Palestinian civilians, identified as Ahmad Mohammad Darwish, 38, and Nael Ahed Al-Nabahin, 21, and left another person critically wounded.
According to field data, at least 694 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025, including 202 children, 83 women, and 21 elderly individuals. A total of 1,888 others have been injured, among them 558 children, 369 women, and 96 elderly people.
The center recorded 2,160 violations of the ceasefire agreement to date, averaging around 13 incidents per day. These include gunfire, artillery shelling, airstrikes, home demolitions, and ground incursions.
The report also highlighted severe restrictions on humanitarian aid. The Israeli occupation is limiting the entry of essential supplies and fuel to dangerous levels, with only 40% of agreed aid trucks reportedly allowed into Gaza, and fuel deliveries reaching just 14.9% of planned quantities.
This has significantly disrupted basic services, including water, electricity, and sanitation systems, while endangering patients and displaced civilians.
Additionally, ongoing restrictions at the Rafah Crossing have reduced the number of travelers permitted to leave or enter Gaza, while humanitarian cases and medical evacuations face delays.
The center also reported the detention of a civilian attempting to return to Gaza, calling it a clear violation of humanitarian protocols and international law.
The organization stressed that these repeated violations constitute serious breaches of the ceasefire agreement and reflect a pattern of excessive and unjustified use of force against civilians, including attacks on populated areas and displacement sites. It argued that such actions constitute collective punishment, which is prohibited under the Geneva Conventions.
The center further warned that the continuation of attacks despite an official ceasefire highlights a lack of international will to enforce legal obligations, fostering a climate of impunity that encourages further violations.
It called on the international community and guarantors of the agreement to take urgent and effective action to halt the violations, ensure immediate international protection for civilians, guarantee the full and unconditional flow of humanitarian aid, and launch independent international investigations into attacks on civilians, with a view to holding those responsible accountable before international courts.
