DaysofPal- The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has expressed its condolences to Iran following the killing of Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, along with several companions during a targeted Israeli strike on the Iranian capital, Tehran.
In an official statement, Hamas extended its sympathy to Iran’s leadership and people, reaffirming its solidarity with the country in the face of Zionist-American aggression.
The group said the continuation of such actions threatens the stability and security of the entire region, holding both the United States and Israeli occupation forces responsible for the consequences.
Hamas paid tribute to Larijani’s legacy, stating, “As we mourn Mr. Ali Larijani and all those who perished in this brutal Zionist-American aggression, we recall with great appreciation his honorable positions in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of our people. We pray that God grants him mercy and inspires his family and brothers with patience.”
Earlier on Tuesday, the Supreme National Security Council confirmed Larijani’s assassination, stating that he was killed in the line of duty during ongoing developments. The council noted that he had dedicated his life to serving Iran and its revolution and that he attained “martyrdom” alongside his son and a security assistant from the council’s general secretariat.
The official statement emphasized that Larijani’s assassination is part of a “jihadi path” and asserted that these developments will only increase the nation’s resolve and determination. While the Council mourned the loss, it did not provide specific details regarding the exact coordinates or tactical circumstances of the assassination.
Larijani is considered the highest-ranking Iranian official to be killed by Israel since the reported targeting of Ali Khamenei on the first day of the war on 28 February.
